AND THIS SCENE, AND THE DIALOGUE IN IT, WAS WHAT MADE IT FOR ME. HOW YURIO WAS PROBABLY LOOKING FOR YUURI SINCE HE LEFT THE RINK, HE MAY HAVE BEEN LOOKING ALL OVER FOR THE OTHER BOY, AND OF COURSE HE ACTS LIKE IT WAS A PAIN IN THE ASS, BUT WE KNOW HE WAS WORRIED.

AND THEN THE FACT HE’S TRYING TO CHEER UP YUURI… IN HIS OWN WAY OF COURSE.

HE’S BASICALLY SAYING “YOU KNOW, YOU HAD AN EXCUSE, FOR NOT BEING ABLE TO PERFORM WELL TODAY, BUT I DIDN’T, I WAS IN TOP CONDITION AND STILL MANAGE TO LOOSE TO JJ. SO STOP FEELING DEPRESSED.”

HOW HE WANTED TO GIVE HIM SOMETHING, THE FACT HE KNEW HIS BIRTHDAY WAS GETTING CLOSE AND WANTED YUURI TO TRY SOME OF HIS FAVORITE FOOD MADE BY HIS GRANDPA.

WE SEE HIM SMILE LIKE THIS, TOO PLEASED THAT THE OTHER BOY IS TRYING HIS GRANDPA’S NEW CREATION, HAPPY TO BE ABLE TO SHARE IT WITH YUURI.

Yurio has already left his guards down when he’s around the other boy, and maybe without even realizing it himself he already considers him as more than just another rival.

Yuuri’s now become his friend.
